Recreation & Social Development

Group outings and shared experiences are powerful tools for growth. Every recreational activity is designed to build positive peer interaction, teamwork, and confidence — never just entertainment.

What students will practice

Skills for real life

Positive peer interaction

Building healthy friendships and relating to others with respect.

Communication & teamwork

Listening, cooperating, and solving problems together as a group.

Confidence

Trying new things in a supportive group builds self-esteem and resilience.

New experiences

Outings that broaden horizons and create positive shared memories.

What it looks like

A team outing, with purpose

Activities may include group outings, bowling, sporting events, and team-building challenges. Each one is planned with a goal in mind — for example, a team challenge where the group has to communicate and cooperate to succeed, then talk afterward about what worked.

Skills for everyday life

Why it matters

The social and emotional skills built here matter everywhere — making friends, working on a team, handling setbacks, and having the confidence to try something new.
